I guess we don’t have to pack up and move to Costa Rica after all. I never thought I’d see it and am beside myself right now. America, you were as close to angelic as I’ve ever seen you yesterday. Thank You.
Whew, and it is done.

Our alternate plan was Vancouver.
I have never been as proud to be an American as I am today.

We thought about Canada as a backup plan, too (torn between Vancouver and Windsor). I’m so happy with how the election turned out (gay rights revocations aside), and so hopeful that things will get better.

Katie, Vancouver BC is great. But I do like my home here and am so relieved to feel even the slightest smidgen of hope that the American public is snapping out of their apathy, fear and greed.
Jenny, I heard about the marriage ban down there in CA. Seems crazy that so many people are willing to dedicate their time and energy to taking away others rights. I share your hope that things will get better. Obama isn’t perfect and a president certainly can’t do it alone, but I hope his election is an indication of a greater social realization regarding the last 8 years.
